Open Access Publishing Europe Journal

Europe Journal (ISSN 0014-2751) is committed to the principles of open access: making scholarly research freely available to readers worldwide, without subscription or pay-per-view barriers. We believe that knowledge should circulate openly to advance education, public policy, and social change.

As an open access journal, we follow a simple model:

  • Readers pay nothing – All articles are free to read, download, and share immediately upon publication.

  • Authors contribute – A modest article processing charge (APC) of  €1200 EUR  is applied only to papers that have been accepted after peer review.

This model ensures that to covering the costs of editorial management, peer review coordination, copyediting, typesetting, digital archiving, and long-term preservation.

Why Do We Charge an APC?

Open access publishing requires sustainable funding. Traditional subscription journals recover costs through library fees; open access journals replace that revenue with APCs. Our APC directly supports:

  • Peer review management – Editorial office salaries, submission system maintenance.

  • Professional copyediting and proofreading – Ensuring language quality and consistency.

  • Typesetting and XML conversion – Preparing articles for online distribution and indexing.

  • DOI registration – Each article receives a permanent digital object identifier.

  • Permanent archiving – Long-term preservation, and institutional repositories.

  • Website hosting and security – Maintaining a fast, reliable, and secure journal platform.

We keep administrative costs lean and do not profit excessively from APCs. Any surplus is reinvested into the journal’s development and outreach.

Funding Your APC

Many institutions, research funders, and grant agencies provide funds specifically for open access APCs. You may consider:

  • Institutional open access funds – Ask your university library or research office.

  • Research grants – Many grant agencies allow APC costs as eligible expenses.

  • Consortium agreements – Some national or regional library consortia have agreements that cover APCs for affiliated authors.

If you need an invoice sent directly to your institution or funder, please contact our editorial office at editors@europejournal.net after acceptance.
