Submission Guide

Thank you for considering Europe Journal (ISSN 0014-2751) as a venue for your research. This guide outlines everything you need to prepare and submit your manuscript. Please read carefully before submitting.

All submissions must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere. The journal follows a double-blind peer review process and operates as an open access Publishing.

1. Types of Submissions Accepted

  •  Original Research Papers
  • Review Articles
  • Short Communications
  • Case Studies

All word limits exclude the abstract, tables, figures, and references. Longer manuscripts may be considered for exceptional work; contact the editor in advance.

2. Formatting Requirements

Please format your manuscript according to the following specifications:

  • File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)
  • Page layout: A4, margins 2.5 cm (1 inch) on all sides.
  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt for body text.
  • Line spacing: Single throughout (including abstract, references, and notes).
  • Page numbers: Centered at the bottom.
  • Title page: Include article title, all authors’ full names, affiliations, ORCID iDs, and the corresponding author’s email and postal address.

Structure of the blinded manuscript (in order):

  1. Article title
  2. Abstract
  3. Keywords (4–6 words/phrases)
  4. Main text (with headings as appropriate)
  5. Acknowledgments (leave blank or write “to be added after acceptance”)
  6. References

3. Citation & Reference Style

Europe Journal uses a modified APA 7th edition for in-text citations and the reference list.

Key points:

  • In-text citations: (Author, year) or Author (year). For direct quotes, include page number: (Author, year, p. 12).
  • Reference list: Alphabetical by author surname. Use hanging indent.

Examples:

  • Journal article:  Castells, M. (2020). The new public sphere. Global Media Journal, 12(3), 45–67.
  • Book:  Fairclough, N. (2015). Language and power (3rd ed.). Routledge.
  • Chapter in edited book:  Kramsch, C. (2019). The multilingual subject. In L. Wei & A. Creese (Eds.), The Routledge handbook of multilingualism (pp. 89–104). Routledge.

4. Ethical Guidelines & Policies

By submitting to Europe Journal, authors affirm that:

  • The work is original and has not been published previously (in whole or in part).
  • All authors have contributed significantly and have approved the final version.
  • No data, text, or ideas from others are used without proper attribution. Plagiarism in any form is unacceptable and will lead to immediate rejection.
  • For research involving human participants or animals, authors must provide a statement of ethical approval from the relevant institutional review board and informed consent from participants.
  • The authors have no undisclosed conflicts of interest. Any financial or personal relationships that could influence the work must be declared.

5. AI usage policy

Generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Deepseek, Manus) cannot be listed as authors. Their use must be disclosed in the Acknowledgments section, specifying which parts of the work were AI‑assisted (e.g., language polishing, idea generation). Authors remain fully responsible for all content.

6. Peer Review Process

  1. Initial check: Editor assesses fit with journal scope, formatting, and ethical compliance. Rejection without full review if major issues.
  2. Double-blind review: Manuscript is sent to two independent reviewers. Both reviewers and authors remain anonymous.
  3. Decision: Editor makes one of the following decisions based on reviewer reports:  

   – Accept as is  

   – Minor revisions  

   – Major revisions (and re-review)  

   – Reject

  1. Revision: Authors have 4–6 weeks to resubmit revised manuscript with a point‑by‑point response letter.
  2. Final acceptance: Copyediting and proofreading by the journal. Authors receive PDF proofs for final approval.
  3. Time from submission to first decision: 4–6 weeks on average.

7. How to Submit

Europe Journal offers two submission methods. The online portal is strongly preferred.

If you experience technical difficulties with the portal, you may submit via email to:

Please include the following:

  • Subject line: “Submission – [Your article title]”
  • Attach the title page, blinded manuscript, and any supplementary files as separate attachments (Word or PDF).
  • In the email body, state that the manuscript is original, not under consideration elsewhere, and confirm that all authors have approved the submission.

You will receive an acknowledgment within 3 business days.

8. After Acceptance

Proofs: Typeset proofs will be sent to the corresponding author for final corrections. Only minor changes (typos, formatting) are allowed at this stage.

Publication: Articles are published online on our website.

If your paper is accepted following rigorous peer review, a publication fee of £1000 GBP or €1200 Euros applies for open-access online publication on our website a competitive, transparent charge that ensures your work is freely accessible to a global audience.
